Subject: Re: Implementing PREMIS in Fedora

Hi Heidi,
Thanks for your message - it was great meeting you at iPRES last month. I’d be happy to schedule a call to discuss implementing PREMIS in Fedora. Currently, this can be done using the optional Audit Service [1] which is documented [2] on the wiki. Basically, changes to Fedora resources (create, update, delete) generate triples using the PREMIS ontology to record things like which user performed the event, what kind of action was taken, when the action was performed, etc. These triples can be indexed to an external triplestore and/or stored in Fedora. Esme Cowles was the primary developer who worked on this feature so you may want to reach out to him as well for further details.
I am away next week at the DLF Forum but I will be available on the 14th and 15th, and again from the 22nd to 25th. Let me know if any of those dates will work for you and we’ll pick a time to meet.
Regards,
David
