IU is creating a large installation of disk-based storage that will be known as the Data Capacitor. It is still being designed, but they claim that:
- it will contain hundreds of Terabytes
- it will support connections via NFS, CIFS, Grid FTP, and others
- there will be some integration with HPSS, hopefully so all data coming in will be able to be archived
- the first version will be operational by late spring '06
