Indiana University Usability Working Group Knowledge Base
Usability Working Group Overview
The Indiana University Libraries Usability Working Group (UWG) has formed to disseminate, facilitate and promote usability and accessibility initiatives for online services (e.g., digital collections, the Libraries' website and intranet, etc.) provided by the Bloomington Libraries in support of teaching, learning and research. The UWG brings together usability practitioners from the Libraries and University Information Technology Services, and serves an advisory role for user-centered assessment issues. The UWG provides guidance and coordination for usability and accessibility activities conducted to improve the online services offered by the Bloomington Libraries.

Knowledge Base Overview
In an effort to create a resource for usability practitioners on the Indiana University Bloomington campus, the Usability Working Group has created a knowledge base (KB) focusing on user-centered assessment and design techniques and methodologies. Along with highlighting techniques, the KB also provides basic information about the Human Subjects process for Bloomington researchers as well as a list of design, usability and accessibility resources freely available online.
The KB is seen as an organic resource that will grow over time. In the coming year, members of UWG will continue to add entries for techniques and methodologies, strategies for quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and guidelines for web/electronic accessibility and usability assessment.
