The Permissions tab of Distributions Settings will largely deal with your journal's copyright and licensing policy. For any questions involving copyright or licensing issues, please contact the Copyright Librarian.
1. Copyright Notice
Once the Office of Scholarly Publishing has approved your copyright policy, place the entirety of the policy here. You will be able to edit the policy at any point, but unless you do a reset of permissions (which will be explained later on this page) the existing policy and license will only apply to future issues and articles. After submitting your copyright policy into the first text box, be sure to enable or disable the box directly below that requires submitting authors to explicitly agree to the Copyright Notice before submission is finalized.
The next two items on this page allow you to set the copyright year for new articles as well as the copyright holder for each article.
You can add creative commons licenses to your articles at anytime using the drop down menu under "License". If you would like more information on these licenses as well as what each one entails, check the Creative Commons Licenses Guide. This is also an excellent site to link as a URL for describing the license that the right box asks for.
3. Permissions Reset
This button will attach changes in copyright and licensing policy to content already published as well as future content. This is permanent and will make copyright uniform across all content, so make sure that your copyright policy is fully approved by all users and authors.
