Mapping Flowchart – Container Records (part 2 – “cleanup mapping”)

[30 January 2009]

  1. Determining supplemental mapping:
    1. For each container which has no instantiations attached, proceed to step 2.
    2. For each container from Groups 2, 3, or 4 which has one or more instantiations attached, proceed to step 4.
    3. For each container from any of the Group 1 set which has one or more instantiations attached, leave the status as “Batch-Loaded – Minimal” and stop here.

  1. Mapping contributors directly to a container with no instantiations:
    1. From each bib record, Contributor search in V3 using each of the following values:
      1. 100/110/111 |a, |q, |b, |c, |d.
      2. 600/610/611 |a, |q, |b, |c, |d.
      3. 700/710/711 |a, |q, |b, |c, |d.
      4. 800/810/811 |a, |q, |b, |c, |d.
    2. If exactly one match, map ContributorID from search result to NameRecordID field.
    3. Else, do not map to NameRecordID
    4. Set role according to value in |4 (see mapping table) . If no |4, do not set a role value.
    5. Set Container status to “Batch-Loaded – No Works”

  1. Mapping notes to container:
    1. From each bib record, map each 505, 511 and 518 field to Notes field in V3. Set type to “Descriptive”.

  1. Mapping contributors directly to a container with one or more instantiations:
    1. From each bib record, perform a Contributor search in V3 in each of the following cases:
      1. 100/110/111 |a, |q, |b, |c, |d (only if no instantiation was created based on the value in 240 or 245)
      2. 700/710/711 |a, |q, |b, |c, |d (only if |t is present and no instantiation was created based on the value in 700/710/711)
    2. If exactly one match, map ContributorID from search result to NameRecordID field.
    3. Else, do not map to NameRecordID
    4. Set role according to value in |4 (see mapping table) . If no |4, do not set a role value.
    5. Set Container status to “Batch-Loaded – Provisional”
